Curriculum
Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (BSc.)
- Total Credit Hours: 154 Credit Hours
- Duration: Eight Semesters (Four Years)
- Programme Structure: The curriculum integrates foundational sciences, clinical practice, and specialised physiotherapy disciplines, emphasising evidence-based practice, patient-centred care, and ethical standards.
- Professional Accreditation: Graduates are accredited as Physiotherapy Technologists by the Health Professions Council of Sudan, enabling them to practice independently within the scope of physiotherapy practice.
- Postgraduate Pathways:
Students have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies, including specialised micro-subspecialisations within physiotherapy such as cardiopulmonary, neurological, pediatric, musculoskeletal, and sports physiotherapy.
Furthermore, graduates can advance to obtain Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, qualifying them for academic positions, research roles, and teaching positions within the Faculties of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.
Curriculum Highlights:

Physiotherapy Diploma (PTD)
- Total Credit Hours: 121 Credit Hours
- Duration: Six Semesters (Three Years)
- Program Focus: Designed to prepare students as Physiotherapy Technicians, this diploma program provides foundational knowledge and essential clinical skills necessary for supporting physiotherapists and delivering basic physiotherapy services.
- Professional Accreditation: Graduates are recognised as Physiotherapy Technicians by the Health Professions Council, authorised to perform supervised physiotherapy interventions under the guidance of licensed physiotherapists.
Programme Components:
The curriculum combines theoretical coursework in anatomy, physiology, and basic physiotherapy techniques with practical training in clinical settings to ensure graduates can deliver quality patient care at a technician level.
Career Pathways:
Graduates can work in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers, providing essential physiotherapy services and supporting rehabilitation efforts across diverse healthcare environments.
