The Financial Administration at the National University of Sudan aligns its practices with international standards to ensure responsible and effective financial management. This includes adherence to International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), which provide a global framework for transparent, consistent, and comparable financial reporting in the public sector. We also follow guidelines from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to promote ethical conduct, professional competence, and sound financial practices.

In addition, we incorporate best practices in public financial management, emphasising comprehensive budgeting, internal controls, risk management, and accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities

  • Preparing, monitoring, and controlling the university annual budget in line with strategic objectives.
  • Managing financial transactions, including procurement, payments, and revenue collection.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conducting financial analysis and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Overseeing internal and external audits, ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to promote transparency and accountability.
  • Managing cash flow, banking relations, and financial investments.
  • Ensuring adherence to national financial regulations and international standards such as IPSAS (International Public Sector Accounting Standards).
  • Providing financial advice and support for project funding, grants, and partnerships.
  • Promoting financial awareness and training programs within the university community.
