The National University of Sudan admits students from Sudan and beyond. In its commitment to academic excellence, the university welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, talents, and interests. Admission requirements are based on nationally and internationally recognised standards. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply through the university’s online portal (https://www.nu.edu.sd/). Upon successful application, students will receive admission letters, student identification cards, and a detailed academic calendar outlining lecture periods, holidays, tuition fee payment procedures, and other relevant information.

Academic Requirements for Admission

The minimum academic requirement for undergraduate admission is the Sudanese General Secondary Certificate with a minimum score as specified by the university, or equivalent qualifications recognised internationally. Applicants must meet the specific departmental prerequisites for their chosen programme.

Undergraduate Admissions

Applications are open annually based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sudan. Applications are usually submitted through the NUSU portal (https://www.nus.edu.sd). Can also submit hard copies of their applications to the Admissions Office at the main campus in Khartoum, along with supporting documents.

Graduate Studies

Applications for master’s and PhD programmes will open in the upcoming academic year. Further details will be announced on the university website. Documents should be resized to a total size of no more than 5MB before uploading.

International Students

The NUSU warmly welcomes international students to enroll in its diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Transfer Students

Transfer students are welcome to apply. The relevant faculty dean and the registrar will evaluate their transcripts. Transfer credits for general education courses will be assessed to determine transferability.

Applicants should scan and send their transcripts, passports, and a recommendation letter from their previous institution’s dean or lecturer. If courses do not align with NUSU offerings, applicants will need to apply as fresh students following the standard admission process.
