Our New Post

The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Surgery was established in 2006, one year after the establishment of the faculty of Medicine. The college is distinguished by constant development, academic excellence and keeping up to date with international competencies required for a dentist.

Dental Medicine & Surgery at National University acquired a renowned place among other dental schools in a very short time.

The college is also distinguished by a competent and proficient staff holding various academic grades in different dental specialties, in addition to community dentistry and other oral diagnostic sciences. Furthermore there are specialized faculties for basic sciences.

Established in 2005 as a medical programme in the National College for Medical and Technical Studies. In 2014, the programme was renamed as “Faculty of Medicine” as part of the college being promoted to a university.

OBJECTIVES

Graduate dental and oral health professionals at the internist levels with strong community orientation, ethical standards and self-directed learning capabilities

Graduate practitioners with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB BS), with strong community orientation and ethical components.

Strengthen medical and health research in dentistry and related professions, making use of the National College’s accessibility and communication privileges.

Contribute to community development through health services provided in its own health institutions and other institutions co-operating with us, through the following:  (a) partnership in designing health programs and plans, and implement whatever is feasible in  utilizing the experience of specialists, (b) contribution in sustainable education through short and long term courses, to improve efficiency of health workers, and (c) provision of essential equipment and supplies to improve quality of services, through partnership with the Ministry of Health

Vision

         The Faculty of Dental Medicine & Surgery/ NUSU – Sudan strives towards developing the highest standards of academic professional excellence in dental medicine and surgery. The various parts of this program aim to produce ethically responsible, innovative, critically thinking, competent and professional dentists committed to meeting the health and developmental needs of all communities in Sudan and the rest of the world, appropriately and efficiently. The curricula teach the students how to learn and continue as lifelong learners in dentistry. The Program aims to be the most respected educational institution of dental sciences and practice, as evidenced by high quality of premises, preparations, up-to-date administration and governance, job- and research directed instruction, quality of graduate and their ethical, professional and scholarly contributions.
